What Happens When You Put Others First?

For the past few years, I've been asking myself why I Put Others the people I love and care about  First and why they still don't even give a f*** about me? I asked myself every day why? is this only happening to me?

Putting others first is an effective way to foster positive relationships and create a more peaceful world. When you prioritize others' needs and well-being, you are able to connect with them on a deeper level, and they are more likely to reciprocate. However, remember that putting others first does not imply ignoring your own needs and desires. It is critical to strike a balance and ensure that you are also taking care of yourself. You will be more present and effective when interacting with others as a result.

One of the benefits of putting others first is that it can help to build trust and intimacy in relationships. When you consistently put the needs of your loved ones before your own, they will come to trust and rely on you. This can lead to stronger, more fulfilling relationships.

When you actively look for ways to help and support those around you, they will be more likely to do the same for you. This creates a positive cycle of mutual support and can lead to a stronger sense of community. but it's not always the same. Sometimes we think we ourselves but it's not true all the time. Honestly putting others first will put us into a deeper sacrifice but with what cost? In my opinion, when you put someone else first in your life before you? Is it truly worth it? If you take the simple example of God showing us by giving his only son. action speaks more than words.

The next big question is whether putting other people first isn't a mental disorder?

According to Australian research, one in every two people suffers from mental illness. Over 75% of mental illnesses begin before the age of 25. In the previous year, far more people died by suicide than in car accidents, so they identified mental illness as the primary cause. Why we don't know anything about mental illness? When you have a physical injury be worried and we show empathy for them. Mental illness is a mental injury just because we cannot see the injury or the pain doesn't make it any less often a struggle or an endless debilitating before the person. People tend to assume that persons struggling with mental illness can make a choice not to be this way or snap out of it. The Sigma attached to mental illness is often centered around the idea of personal choice and control.

People tend to assume that a person struggling with mental illness can't make a choice not to be this way or snap out of it. Now we wouldn't say that to someone battling cancer. Mental illnesses are illnesses of the brain that could cause by or contribute by biological changes or chemical imbalances of the brain.

It's not a simple matter of choice

when you have a mental illness self-confidence will be very, when you have a conditional like that having some of these comments will be destroyed you or make you feel disappointed about yourself
  1. why are you so sleepy all the time? Don't be so lazy
  2. you are making everyone disappointed
  3. you are being stupid just snap out of it
  4. you are so weak just pick yourself up
  5. this is not what I was looking for from you
why do people ask a question like that most likely because of a lack of understanding old people don't even know there is something called mental illness. We need to ask help all we need to ask help but unfortunately, Sigma and shame however been found to be major obstacles to seeking treatment or help.

Negative things that come with putting others first?

One disadvantage of putting others first is that it can lead to neglecting your own needs and desires. This can result in feelings of resentment, burnout, and disregard for your own mental and physical health. You may feel drained and unfulfilled if you always put others' needs ahead of your own.

Another negative consequence of putting others first is that it can lead to people taking advantage of you. If you consistently prioritize the needs of others, some may start to expect this behavior and take advantage of your generosity.

It can also lead to setting unrealistic expectations for yourself, which can be hard to maintain in the long term. This can lead to feelings of failure and disappointment, which can negatively impact self-esteem and confidence.

Self-care?

Self-care refers to the actions and practices that individuals do in order to take care of their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It's the process of intentionally taking care of one's own needs, in order to maintain or improve overall health and well-being.

Self-care can take many different forms, such as:
  1. Physical self-care includes getting enough sleep, exercising, and eating a nutritious diet.
  2. Emotional self-care, such as stress management techniques such as mindfulness or therapy.
  3. Reading, learning new things, or practicing mindfulness are all examples of mental self-care.
  4. Meditation, prayer, and connecting with nature are examples of spiritual self-care.
Self-care is essential because it can help people manage stress, improve their mental and physical health, and maintain their overall well-being. It also enables people to be more present and effective in their interactions with others, allowing them to maintain positive relationships and contribute to a more peaceful world.

It's important to remember that self-care is a continuous process that requires effort and commitment. Because everyone's needs differ, it's critical to figure out which self-care activities work best for you and incorporate them into your daily routine. It's also critical to prioritize self-care and not neglect it when life gets hectic or stressful. Finally, I just want to say we can't help someone else without first helping yourself.
